Some Specs on the standard setup
-
Fully extended, the mounting pole allows about 200 mm between the bottom
of the objective lenses and the stage. The working distance is about
95mm, so subjects of 100mm (about 4 inches) or so in height are permitted.
-
At lowest magnification (6.5x) the field of view is 29mm. This measurement
doubles with use of the 0.5x supplementary lens (below).
-
At highest magnification (45x) the field of view is 4.3mm.
Trinocular Model
-
Includes light splitting mechanism, so that during photography, the light
and image from one eyepiece is diverted to the photo tube, preserving the
quality of the image.
-
Provides unimpeded viewing while allowing CCD video camera connection.
Threading allows direct connection to our
BioVid or EVid cameras.
-
Note: The trinocular head cannot be added later to the binocular model,
you'll need to make your choice at the time of purchase.
-
Regular eyepiece tube and eyepiece are available at addional cost if needed
for use with our Photo Mounts. You'll need to order
the Eyepiece Tube and Eyepiece if using our Generic
"Digital Photo Mount", one of our
"SLR Mounts", or if you want another individual
to be able to view through the trinocular port. If you are using one
of our "Professional Digital Mounts" you'll
only need the Eyepiece Tube. These items must be ordered with a trinocular
head in the order section below.
Optional Lenses
-
Eyepieces (10x included standard)
-
16x ($79)
-
20x ($99)
-

Supplementary lenses screw in beneath the objectives and can be used in
combination with eyepieces, which just drop in place.
Supplementary lenses affect working distance (the space between the lens
and the in-focus object) while eyepieces do not.
Here is how various combinations of lenses affect working distance,
magnification, and width of field:
