Microscope Head Selection

Generally, a professional microscope is supplied with a binocular head, allowing a single user to view with both eyes.

A trinocular head may be optionally selected for either a second person to view, or, more commonly, to enable a camera to be mounted to the scope.

The following recommendations are provided to help you select the proper trinocular option:

Please be aware that a camera can also be mounted to one of the regular binocular eyepieces.  Regular use of the microscope will be hindered while the camera is in place, but in most situations photo image quality will not suffer.
Note: A trinocular head can be purchased for supported microscopes at a later date, but the cost will significantly higher than a purchase at the same time as your microscope purchase. Same time purchase price is an upgrade price (from Binocular to Trinocular), whereas a later purchase would be an outright purchase.  We're sorry, but we are unable to take binocular heads as trade-ins towards trinocular.
